Moka pot
You will need:
- 1 Moka pot
- 15 g finely ground coffee
- 150 ml water
- 1 cup
Duration: 1 minute of brewing
The Moka pot produces strong, more bitter, and relatively concentrated coffee (the coffee-to-water ratio is high), similar to an espresso. It is compact, robust, and easy to use.
Preparation method
- Place 15 g of ground coffee in the filter basket. Distribute the coffee evenly without tamping it.
- Heat the water to 80°C in a kettle. This way, you save time and prevent the coffee from burning in the Moka pot. Then fill the reservoir up to the valve (approximately 15 cl, be careful not to submerge the valve).
- Screw the upper part onto the reservoir and place the whole thing over low heat.
- Reduce the heat even further as soon as the water starts to boil. Wait one minute then remove the Moka pot from the heat. Do not wait for all the water to pass through. If the coffee brews in less than a minute, the coffee is ground too coarsely. If the water passes through too slowly, the grind is too fine.
