They are then sent for processing where the majority of the coffee cherries are de-pulped.\nHawaii is the only state in the USA with the appropriate climatic conditions to grow coffee, combined with its limited supply and legal requirements to pay decent wages and taxes, all of which contribute to the high demand and cost of 100% Kona coffee.\n\nKona coffee has won numerous awards in tasting competitions around the world.\nKona beans can have notes of brown sugar, milk chocolate, honey, and a hint of bright fruit flavor. It is generally described as light, bright, and clean. The aftertaste is very pleasant and persistent, with notes of nuts and citrus.
