We are delighted to introduce our partner, the specialty coffee estate located 75 kilometers north of the capital city of Kathmandu in Nepal well known globally for its natural beauty with the highest Himalayan peaks on the planet.
The Plantec Coffee Estate remain the first and only single coffee estate within the entire region where they grow and process superior coffees washed with Himalayan snow melt waters of the Trisuli river flowing alongside the estate originating from the Ganesh Himal Mountain range.
This has been a very satisfying and adventure filled project for them contributing to reforestation, soil conservation, habitat for both migratory and non-migratory birds housed in their shade trees (Birds normally do not nestle on coffee trees being not tall enough for safety).
They contribute to the Global CARBON NEUTRAL activity as such.
Several endangered wild animal species have returned after this previously barren degraded area has been reforested.
Organically grown /certified for USDA-NOP & AMP; EC89/2008 certified with annual site audits under taken, shade grown, wet processed, sun dried, hand cleaned /sorted. They are the northern most single estate in the entire world. They have made a tremendous Impact on the livelihood of the local backward inhabitants of this interior region especially with regards to women's employment and training.
They grow Cattura (Arabica) beans from non-GMO seeds in 1995 at an altitude of around 700m.
They have around 75 hectares of land planted out where we produce around 100 tons of raw coffee beans.
