This Papua New Guinea Sigri A is grown in the Wahgi Valley, in the heart of the Highlands, at an altitude of 1,550 meters, on rich and fertile volcanic soils. Benefiting from a tropical climate tempered by altitude (24°C on average) and abundant rainfall of approximately 2,200 mm per year, this region offers ideal conditions for growing exceptional Arabica. Established in the 1950s, the Sigri plantation quickly built a reputation as a benchmark in Papua New Guinea. The Sigri A also maintains a historical link with Jamaican Blue Mountain, from which plants were introduced to the Highlands in the 1930s. Most of the country's coffee is produced by small family gardens, cultivated without artificial fertilizers or chemical treatments, in accordance with traditional practices. The cherries are harvested manually, then fermented for three days with daily washing, followed by an additional day of fermentation before natural drying and rigorous manual sorting. Made from Typica and Arusha varieties, this Rainforest Alliance certified coffee guarantees traceability and sustainable commitment. It deserves its SCA score of 84 with its aromatic and structured cup. We have chosen a medium roast to highlight its balance and depth. On the palate, it develops warm notes of toasted bread, biscuit and maple syrup, supported by a beautiful length and a persistent sweetness.
