The Jamaica Blue Mountain is considered one of the best coffees in the world. The variety bears a state label, that guarantees through severe controls that all exported coffee is held to a high quality standard . The beans chosen by Corica originate from a prize-winning domain (Gold Cup Estate) that also houses the highest plantation in the Blue Mountain region. The grade 1 assures that only the largest (screen 17 and +) and prettiest beans have been picked out. The Blue Mountains regio, a moutain range in the South-east of the country, is one of the highest in the Carribeans, reaching altitudes of up to 2300 meters. The region has a cool climate, characterized by dense fog, intense rainfall and a generous blanket of clouds. The sun shines copiously and the drainage is excellent. In short, the ideal environment to cultivate specialty coffee.
