The Jamaica Blue Mountain is considered one of the best coffees in the world. The variety bears a state label, that guarantees through severe controls that all exported coffee is held to a high quality standard . The grade 1 assures that only the largest (screen 17 and +) and prettiest beans have been picked out. The Blue Mountains regio, a moutain range in the South-east of the country, is one of the highest in the Carribeans, reaching altitudes of up to 2300 meters. The region has a cool climate, characterized by dense fog, intense rainfall and a generous blanket of clouds. The sun shines copiously and the drainage is excellent. In short, the ideal environment to cultivate specialty coffee.
Corica, through its importer, has chosen to work with small local producers from the provinces of Saint Mary, Portland, Saint Thomas, and Saint Andrew, ensuring traceability back to the farm, but also, and most importantly, providing superior quality coffee thanks to the commitment and passion of the coffee farmers.
